Experienced scrum-half, Henry Pyrgos, signed for Edinburgh in the summer of 2018 having spent eight-years at Glasgow Warriors.
A astute game manager with excellent vision in attack, Pyrgos made 24 appearances in his debut season in the capital, scoring his first try for the club in the Heineken Champions Cup over RC Toulon in October 2018.
A former pupil of Bryanston School in Dorset, Pyrgos represented Scottish Exiles at under-18, under-19, and under-20 levels, as well as Northampton Saints’ under-18 and under-19 teams and, during a visit to New Zealand, he was included in the Wanganui province’s youth squad.
The scrum-half made his Scotland debut as a second-half substitute for Mike Blair against New Zealand in the first Autumn Test of 2012.
The same switch was made in the next game against South Africa in which Pyrgos scored his first try for Scotland, before adding a second as part of a stunning fightback, which helped his country post a 21-19 victory over Argentina in the third Test of Scotland’s 2014 summer tour.
