When Jack Blain started on the wing against Bath in Edinburgh's 2018/19 pre-season friendly, the 18-year-old became the first player born in the year 2000 to represent the club.
A standout for Scotland U18, the electric winger provided the cutting edge to Scotland’s attack at the 2018 Under 18 Six Nations Festival in Wales.
Blain, who played his club rugby at Heriot’s, scored three tries in the tournament, including a brace against England.
The wing made his full debut for the club in the Guinness PRO14 match against Benetton in March 2019.
The young back-three player enjoyed a spell in Edinburgh’s starting XV to start the 2020-21 season, making his first home start against Connacht in October 2020, before grabbing a brace of tries – his first for the club – in the home defeat to Ulster in November 2020.
Blain put pen-to-paper on a deal with the club in February 2021.
