Do it for Doddie!

Edinburgh Rugby fans have been called upon to turn out in tartan this Friday night as the club celebrates the life of Doddie Weir OBE at its BKT URC match against Munster at DAM Health Stadium.

Supporters at Friday night’s match are encouraged to wear tartan garments – particularly those of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation itself – to bring colour to the match, where a moment’s applause will be held in his memory before kick-off.

Club ‘Blue Crew’ volunteers will be on stand-by at the ‘Oor Doddie’ statue at the south-west corner of BT Murrayfield Stadium, handing out Doddie Weir tartan headbands when evidence (i.e., a screenshot) of a confirmed donation to the foundation is shown. Find out more here.

Clubhouse update

Unfortunately, due to ongoing events being held on the BT Murrayfield estate that weekend the Supporters Clubhouse located in the Thistle Suite will not be in operation pre or post-match.

With the annual ‘Glitterfest Christmas Party’ using both the Thistle Suite and Up and Under, and a separate event taking place in the Rowan Suite, all spaces are in use on this occasion.

The club apologises to supporters for any inconvenience caused and the Supporters Clubhouse will be back in operation (pre-match only due to Glitterfest) at Castres on Saturday 17 December.

With this in mind, the club is ensuring that the DAM Health Stadium Fan Zone has plenty on the go to keep supporters of all ages entertained ahead of a massive night of rugby in the capital.
