Everitt takes charge in the capital

Edinburgh Rugby’s new Senior Coach Sean Everitt arrived in the capital earlier this week to take charge and lead the club’s coaching team ahead of the new campaign.

With his appointment announced last month – where he was able to meet the squad at the team’s St Andrews training camp – Everitt has now made the permanent move to Edinburgh where he will spearhead the squad’s pre-season preparations as the countdown to the BKT United Rugby Championship kick-off continues.

Everitt (Senior Coach) will lead a coaching group made up of Stevie Lawrie (Forwards Coach), Michael Todd (Defence Coach) and Rob Chrystie (Skills and Assistant Attack Coach), as Mark Robertson (Head of S&C) continues to lead on strength and conditioning.

Fans can meet Sean for the first time at next week’s open training at Netherdale, the home of Gala RFC, on Friday 25 August with admission free for the joint session with Newcastle Falcons.

Supporters can also look forward to the first sit-down interview with the team’s new Senior Coach, with the feature content dropping this coming Monday (21 August) at edinburghrugby.org and across the club’s social channels.

Edinburgh Rugby Managing Director Douglas Struth has today welcomed Everitt to the club as an exciting new era gets started in the Scottish capital.

He said: “We’re delighted to this week welcome Sean [Everitt] to Edinburgh Rugby as he takes charge and leads our exciting coaching group and squad into the new campaign.

“Our coaching group, strength and conditioning team and Lead Rugby Consultant Steve Diamond have done a brilliant job so far in terms of leading our players through pre-season, and that work has allowed Sean to hit the ground running this week as our squad returned for block three of training.

“I’d encourage all our fans to get behind Sean as he takes charge, and for those attending our open session in Galashiels, there will be a great chance to see him lead training and meet him for the first time.”
