Boys’ National Youth Cup winners to be honoured at Black Lion

Edinburgh Rugby will welcome five of the 2024 Boys' National Youth Cup Final winners to Hive Stadium for Sunday’s EPCR Challenge Cup clash against Black Lion.

The winning teams, who triumphed in their respective competitions in December last year, will all attend Edinburgh men’s first home match of 2025 – further strengthening the club’s ties with the community game.

All winning teams will take part in a half-time lap of honour giving Edinburgh fans the chance to show their appreciation to players from across all sides on the day.

The capital club is working to honour those winning girls teams at an Edinburgh Rugby women’s team fixture later in the season.

Edinburgh Rugby Managing Director Douglas Struth said: “It’s brilliant to be able to recognise the successes of our grassroots clubs, with the Youth Cup winners getting the chance to celebrate their triumphs in front of the Edinburgh Rugby crowd.

“Our connection to the community is such an important pillar for us as a club and being able to welcome teams to Hive Stadium and champion their results really bolster those relationships with the future of our game.”

Two of the victorious U16 Boys sides will attend the game, with Boroughmuir (U16 Boys Cup) and Peebles RFC (U16 Boys Shield) having won their cup finals.

Peebles will be represented by two sides, with their triumphant U18 Boys Shield winners also in attendance.

In addition, Aberdeen Wanderers (U18 Boys Plate) and Howe of Fife (U18 Boys Quaich) will bring their winning players, with all five sides performing a lap of honour around Hive Stadium at half-time.
