Be part of the team arrival for Saturday’s 1872 Cup decider

22 Dec 2025

Supporters attending Saturday’s 1872 Cup decider at Scottish Gas Murrayfield are encouraged to arrive early to take part in the official pre-match team arrival, led by the Penicuik and District Pipe Band.

To ensure the squad receives a full welcome, fans are asked to line the West Stand roadway and concourse and be in position by 1.20pm as the Penicuik and District Pipe Band leads the Edinburgh Rugby squad from the North Stand toward the West Stand.

This arrival is a key part of the matchday build-up, and we want to create a tunnel of noise for the players as they make their way to the West Stand Main Reception entrance.

General turnstiles are open from 1pm, allowing supporters to access the East and West Stand Fan Zones, which have been transformed into street parties for the afternoon.

These areas will feature live music, various games, and a wide selection of food and beverage trucks to entertain fans of all ages before the team arrival begins.

Make sure you’re in position on the arrival route by 1.20pm. Line the roadway and concourses and show your support for the squad before they enter the changing rooms to prepare for the derby decider.

Help us make this pre-match moment special by joining the Penicuik and District Pipe Band in welcoming the team to the ground!
