Capital quintet set for world cup
Five of Edinburgh's Celtic Challenge stars have been named in the Scotland squad for the upcoming Women's Rugby World Cup in England.
Adelle Ferrie (lock), Molly Poolman (tighthead), Hannah Ramsay (stand-off), Alex Stewart (flanker), and Hannah Walker (wing) all make the 32-player squad, comprising 18 forwards and 14 backs for a Pool B campaign that will see Scotland face Wales, Fiji and Canada.
All five of the capital stars have featured in for Edinburgh in the past two seasons of the Celtic Challenge, with squad leaders Stewart (captain) and Walker (vice-captain).
The uncapped Walker excelled for the capital last season, finishing as the side’s Player of the Season and top try scorer.
Elsewhere in the squad there are further faces that will be familiar to the capital faithful, with Rhea Clarke, Leia Brebner-Holden, Rhona Lloyd, Caity Mattinson, Emma Orr, and Lisa Thomson having all featured in the Celtic Challenge.
