Edinburgh Rugby to ‘Support Our Services’ v Ospreys

1 Feb 2024

Edinburgh Rugby will pay tribute those in the NHS, emergency services, social care sector and armed forces with a special ‘Support our Services’ fixture, when taking on Ospreys at Hive Stadium in the BKT United Rugby Championship next month (Friday 1 March, kick-off 7.35pm).

Working in partnership with Blue Light Card, the capital club is offering a 20% discount on match tickets* for those signed up to the platform, which helps provide those in the emergency services, NHS, social care, and armed forces sectors with a selection of online and high street discounts.

The club has several activations planned on the night to help celebrate those in the services, including the chance to be part of a special ‘services guard of honour’, while a ‘nominate your hero’ competition will be launched across the club’s website and social channels to win the chance to deliver the match ball.

The match is part of a number of themed fixtures in 2023/24 with a special It’s Good 2 Give Family Fun Night (Scarlets), Student Night (Zebre Parma) and Fan Appreciation Night (Munster) still to come this season.

Edinburgh Rugby Managing Director, Douglas Struth, said: “We’re delighted to a launch an all-new ‘Support Our Services’ match night at Hive Stadium, giving the club and our supporters the chance to thank those hard-working service staff who do so much to help us daily.

“It’s brilliant to offer a 20% discount on match tickets for those signed up to the Blue Light platform, offering a great opportunity to bring friends and family along at a discounted rate to enjoy Friday night rugby on an evening where we pay tribute to our services.”

Those with a Blue Light Card membership will be able to purchase discounted tickets via the official Blue Light Card website, with tickets on general sale from today (Thursday 1 February).

Stay tuned to the club’s website and social channels for further information on the first-ever ‘Support our Services’ match night at Hive Stadium.
