Ronald and Philipps return for derby day

5 Mar 2026

Edinburgh Rugby has named their side to face Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun Stadium tomorrow evening, with Aila Ronald and Rachel Philipps returning to the capital starting lineup (Friday 6 March, 7.30pm) – live on BBC Scotland.

The capital side travel west for the last game of their 2025/26 Celtic Challenge campaign, looking to finish on a high against their local rivals.

Hooker Ronald returns to action following a concussion, while centre Philipps moves into the 13-jersey following an impressive second-half display against the Clovers last time out.

On the match, Head Coach Claire Cruikshank said: “We said before last week that we wanted to finish strong, and although we didn’t get the result we showed more of our DNA and fighting to the last whistle.

“Glasgow have been in brilliant form this season, so we know we’ll need to stay in the fight again this week to finish the campaign how we want to.”

Bethan Mathieson retains the full-back jersey after an impressive first start last week, with wingers Hannah Walker and Cieron Bell once again on the flanks after impressive performances last weekend.

Philipps is joined in the midfield by Hannah Ramsay, with scrum-half Emily Love and stand-off Nicole Marlow once again at half-back.

Ronald is the sole change in the pack, joining loosehead Alison Wilson and tighthead Molly Poolman. The lock partnership remains the same, as it has all season, with Adelle Ferrie and Natasha Logan in from the start.

The back-row is also unchanged, with Catriona Moody at number-eight alongside blindside flanker Lauryn McGrotty and openside Alex Stewart.
