Travelling squad named for South Africa tour

17 Mar 2024

Head Coach Sean Everitt today named a 30-player Edinburgh Rugby squad for the club’s two-week tour to South Africa to face DHL Stormers and Hollywoodbets Sharks in Rounds 12 and 13 in the BKT United Rugby Championship.

The squad depart for Cape Town later today (Sunday 17 March), with seven Scotland internationalists involved in the Six Nations set to travel depending on availability.

Head Coach Sean Everitt said: “We’re really excited for the challenge of this tour, taking on two of South Africa’s biggest sides on their own turf.

“As a team, we’ve spoken about the physicality and belief needed to win in Cape Town and Durban – they are the non-negotiables. It’s now about showing the fight and resilience that has lifted us to fourth place in the Championship.

Everitt continued: “Our returning Scotland internationalists bring quality and experience, and they will travel depending on availability. The only fit player unavailable to tour is Ali Price who remains in Scotland for the birth of his child.”

Edinburgh Rugby face DHL Stormers at DHL Stadium on Saturday 23 March (kick-off 3.05pm GMT) before travelling to Durban to take on Hollywoodbets Sharks at Hollywoodbets Kings Park on Saturday 30 March (kick-off 1pm GMT) with both matches lives on Viaplay.
