What’s on Guide: Emirates Lions

Edinburgh Rugby return to action this weekend, taking on Emirates Lions at Hive Stadium on Saturday night (28 October, kick-off 5pm) in the club’s first competitive home fixture of the 2023/24 season.

There’s plenty on at Hive Stadium this Saturday evening, including the launch of two brand-new features, the ‘Unsigned Stage’ and ‘Skill Zone’, providing fans of all ages with plenty of entertainment in the build-up to an unmissable BKT URC clash in the capital.

Supporters are also encouraged to stick around following full-time as we show the World Cup Final in The Clubhouse – giving Edinburgh fans the chance to enjoy world rugby’s showpiece finale together.

Here’s your What’s On Guide for Saturday night’s clash with Emirates Lions!

 

Live music on the Unsigned Stage

Edinburgh’s favourite duo BLEEKER and Scottish solo artist Mark Sharp will be performing in the Fan Zone pre-match with gates open at 3.30pm.

Make sure you grab a drink and listen along to some singalong classics from BLEEKER before one of Scotland’s most exciting solo acts, Mark Sharp, takes to the stage for a set ahead of kick-off!

 

The all-new Skill Zone

Edinburgh Rugby fans can put their talent to the test at the all-new inflatable ‘Skill Zone’ which kicks off at this weekend’s Emirates Lions clash, bringing a host of action-packed games and rugby challenges to match night at Hive Stadium.

Situated behind the family-friendly Riverside Stand, the Skill Zone is perfect for kids of all ages, with the new addition part of the ongoing matchday experience enhancements at Hive Stadium.

Fans are encouraged to check out the brand new ‘Skills Zone’ at this weekend’s home opener, with a giant inflatable sweeper, pirate ship obstacle course, dartboard and bungee run all set to feature in the family focussed area of the ground, next to the Family Pass ticketed area.

 

Signing session

We’ll have a player signing session pre-match, giving fans the chance to meet some of teir favourite players ahead of kick-off in the capital.

Head along to The Clubhouse pre-match from 4.15pm to 4.45pm to grab an autograph or a selfie!

 

Ball delivery

Club legend Stuart McInally will return to Hive Stadium for the first time since announcing his retirement last season, delivering the match ball ahead of kick-off!

Make sure you’re in your seats nice and early to cheer on ‘Rambo’ as he gets our home opener underway.

 

See the squad!

Head to the player walkway – located in the Hive Stadium Fan Zone – where you’ll be able to see the squad, and grab a selfie or autograph.

The team will head out to Hive Stadium for initial warm-ups at 3.45pm, make sure to line up and down the walkway and show your support!

The team will then be available for further selfies and autographs post-match – make sure to get to the walkway in good time!

 

Silent Disco in the Fan Zone!

We’ll have a silent disco set-up in the Fan Zone pre-match!

Get your headphones on and have a boogie ahead of kick-off.

 

Scottish Building Society Half-time high-ball challenge

Stay in your seats at the interval and get set for the Scottish Building Society half-time high-ball challenge!

Each contestant will get the chance to catch three high-balls from one of our non-playing players, with the winner taking home a prize courtesy of Main Club Sponsor, Scottish Building Society.

 

Watch the World Cup Final!

Edinburgh Rugby supporters will be able to settle in for night of World Cup Final action following full-time this Saturday!

The club will be broadcasting the showpiece finale in The Clubhouse with two big screens running on the night, with the Paris final kicking off at 8pm GMT.

With the bar open until late (full-time in Paris) it’s the perfect opportunity to get your mates together for matchday in the capital.

 

Food and drink

There are plenty of spots around the Hive Stadium Fanzone where you can quench your thirst or satisfy your hunger on match day. We also cater to wide range of dietary requirements including vegetarian and vegan. You can check out what will be on-site on our website.
