BALL DELIVERY
Friday night’s match will feature a special match ball delivery to mark Heart Health Month and celebrate the vital work of the club’s official heart health charity partner, British Heart Foundation (BHF) Scotland.
Joining us on the pitch are Brodie Hatfield and his father, Rob. At just 14 years old, Brodie saved his father’s life by performing CPR after Rob suffered a cardiac arrest at home. Drawing on training he received in a science class at Craigmount High School, Brodie kept his father stable until paramedics arrived.
Also delivering the match ball are Dillon Naismith and Robert Donald. In 2017, Dillon suffered a cardiac arrest while playing for Cumnock RFC. His coach, Robert, immediately stepped in to perform resuscitation before emergency services reached the grounds. Following his recovery and a diagnosis of a heart condition, Dillon now lives with an Implanted Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) and continues to give back to the sport he loves as a coach at Cumnock RFC.
GREATEST GRASSROOTS GUARD OF HONOUR
We’ll celebrate the heartbeat of the sport this Friday night as the club welcomes over 50 grassroots clubs to Hive Stadium for a record-breaking ‘Greatest Grassroots Guard of Honour’ as part of the BKT United Rugby Championship Origin Round.
Over 100 representatives from the length and breadth of the club’s supporting regions – spanning Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife, and the Borders – will welcome the teams onto the pitch, lining both the Main Stand and Lothian Stand sides.
WEAR YOUR CLUB COLOURS TO GET ON THE BIG SCREENS AT HALF-TIME!
Get ready to see your face in lights at Hive Stadium this Friday night! We’re calling on the Edinburgh faithful to take over the big screens at half-time as part of the URC Origin Round celebrations.
To get involved and show off your colours to the entire stadium, simply keep your mobile phone handy. During the match, we’ll share a special link on our official social channels, or you can simply scan the QR code displayed on the stadium screens.
By following the link, you can use your phone’s camera to beam your image directly onto the big screen at half-time.
One lucky fan spotted in their club colours will be selected as our winner on the night, walking away with two tickets to next month’s URC clash against Hollywoodbets Sharks on Friday 24 April (7.45pm).
