Watch Edinburgh Rugby train at The Greenyards
Edinburgh Rugby will take its match preparations to the home of Melrose RFC and Southern Knights with an open training session held at The Greenyards on Wednesday 22 February.
Running from 2-5pm, all Edinburgh Rugby supporters – and those in the area keen to watch a professional session – are invited along to the open training access, which will see the senior squad put through their paces ahead of the club’s BKT United Rugby Championship clash against Leinster at DAM Health Stadium (Saturday 4 March, kick-off 5.05pm).

Access is free of charge and supporter seating will be available in The Greenyards Main Stand for the duration of the session. All those attending are encouraged to sign up via Eventbrite so the club can gauge numbers for the event.
There will be plenty of opportunity to meet and chat to the players with a Q&A and signing/selfie session scheduled pitchside at the end of training.
Players will also be on hand to take on a short session with kids attending from local schools in the Melrose area.
Edinburgh Rugby Head Coach Mike Blair has welcomed the move to take training on the road to the Borders and said:
“The Borders is a heartland of rugby in Scotland. We’re hugely grateful for the support Edinburgh Rugby receives from clubs and teams situated across the region, who so often make the journey north to get behind us at DAM Health Stadium.
“As one of world rugby’s most iconic grounds, and the home of Sevens rugby, we’re really excited to take our training to The Greenyards where supporters will be able to watch as our senior squad prepare to face Leinster the following weekend.
“I’d encourage all our supporters and rugby fans based in the Borders to sign-up and get along where they’ll be able to chat to players and meet our squad.”
