Fans have been snapping up their spots at the national stadium for rugby’s oldest inter-city rivalry, which returns in its traditional festive slot on Saturday 30 December at an earlier kick-off of 3pm.

A pre-match Street Party has been added to this year’s matchday in the west stand fan village, led by four live music acts from 1pm – including PG Ciarletta, Littlest Chicken with TUATH, Wrest, and BLEEKER, in the Clubhouse public bar – making the 1872 Cup the ultimate way to kickstart Hogmanay celebrations for friends and families alike.

The Fan Zone will also have a festive market feel, plus a host of other activations lined up for fans of all ages on the big day.

Edinburgh Rugby Managing Director, Douglas Struth, said: “The 1872 Cup is a huge fixture for so many friends and families to come together around the festive period, so it’s fantastic to see it get off to its best-ever start.

“Every year we strive to make it better than ever, and next month, with the addition of the pre-match Street Party and a clear record rate of tickets sales, is set to be our biggest and best yet.”
