Scott returns for Brython test

Scotland international Lucia Scott returns to the capital starting side to face Brython Thunder at Parc y Scarlets tomorrow afternoon (7 February, 12.30pm kick-off) – live on BBC iPlayer.

Scott starts on the right-wing having featured across the tournament at full-back, and will look to continue her impressive Celtic Challenge form as her side look to find their third win of the season.

The outside back is one of six changes that Head Coach Claire Cruikshank has made to the starting line-up from last week’s defeat against Gwalia Lightning.

On the match, Cruikshank said: “It’s going to be another big challenge in South Wales this weekend, but it’s one we’re excited for.

“Brython are a physical side and one who like to move the ball too, so we need to be alive to those threats.  We’ve had another really good week in training and we’re looking forward to another great battle in Wales this weekend.”

Scott is joined in the back three by full-back Nicole Marlow, and winger Hannah Walker – who is the Celtic Challenge’s top try scorer with eight scores in five matches.

Lucy MacRae starts again at inside centre and is joined in the midfield by Lisa Brown – the club’s youngest debutant making her first start for the club.

In the halves, Hannah Ramsay returns to the starting side in the 10 jersey, partnering scrum-half Rhea Clarke.

Hooker Karis Craig makes her first start in the capital front-row, alongside tighthead prop Hannah McMahon and loosehead prop Talei Tawake, who makes her return from injury.

Cruikshank turns to a tried and tested partnership in the second-row, with Adelle Ferrie and Natasha Logan starting at lock for the 6th game in a row.

Lauryn Walter makes her first start for the club at blindside flanker, alongside captain Alex Stewart at openside flanker, and Merryn Gunderson at number eight.
