Hive Stadium is the place to be next weekend as Edinburgh Rugby’s men’s and women’s squads return to centre stage for a massive double header of home action.
With the BKT United Rugby Championship and the Celtic Challenge both back in full swing, supporters have the perfect opportunity to get behind the whole club across two days of rugby in the capital.
Edinburgh Rugby vs Vodacom Bulls | Friday 23 January, 7.45pm
The action kicks off on Friday night under the lights as the men’s team welcomes South African giants, Vodacom Bulls, to Hive Stadium.
This fixture has quickly become one of the most anticipated on the calendar. It’s a rematch of last season’s intense knockout battles where the sides traded blows in both the URC and Challenge Cup Quarter-Finals.
While Edinburgh triumphed in a European thriller, the Bulls claimed the spoils in Pretoria during the URC last eight.
With rivalries rekindled and crucial league points on the line, expect a physical, fast-paced encounter as Edinburgh look to defend their home turf.
Edinburgh Rugby vs Gwalia Lightning | Saturday 24 January, 1pm
The momentum carries straight into Saturday afternoon as our women’s team return to Celtic Challenge action against Gwalia Lightning.
This match-up never fails to produce sparks, and Edinburgh will be looking to build on last month’s intercity win over Glasgow Warriors.
To keep that winning streak alive, the squad needs the Hive Stadium crowd to be louder than ever. It’s the perfect Saturday outing for the whole family to see the best of the women’s game up close.
