Edinburgh Rugby’s academy presence remains the driving force behind the Scotland Men U20 side as Head Coach Fergus Pringle names his squad to face Wales U20 this Friday at Cardiff Arms Park.
With night players from the capital club named in the starting XV, the Edinburgh contingent continues to provide the backbone of the national age-grade side for the third round of the 2026 U20 Six Nations.
The team is once again led by Edinburgh Rugby’s Ross Wolfenden, who retains the captaincy at inside centre.
Wolfenden’s leadership is complemented by a heavy Edinburgh influence across both the pack and the backline, highlighting the strength of the club’s current developmental pathway.
In the front row, loosehead prop Jamie Stewart and tighthead prop Ollie Blyth-Lafferty retain their starting jerseys, providing a settled platform for the Scottish scrum.
They are supported in the engine room by lock Christian Lindsay, who continues his partnership in the second row, while Sam Byrd is named at blindside flanker to complete the club’s representation in the forward pack.
The backline remains a focal point for the capital’s representatives. Hamish MacArthur continues at scrum-half, looking to dictate the tempo alongside captain Wolfenden in the midfield.
The back-three is an exclusively Edinburgh Rugby affair, with Henry Widdowson starting at full-back flanked by wingers Nairn Moncrieff and Rory McHaffie.
The match kicks off at 7.15pm this Friday and will be broadcast live on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website.
