Edinburgh Rugby hit the road for summer sessions

Edinburgh Rugby’s players will visit an array of rugby clubs in its supporting regions throughout July and August as part of the club’s ongoing Our Burgh community outreach programme.

The capital squad will drop by nine different clubs for a mix of visits, Q&As and training sessions, giving both senior players and mini sections the chance to meet the team as pre-season preparations get into full swing across the country.

The club’s ‘Summer Sessions’ programme will see the Edinburgh squad make visits to Leith RFC, Howe of Fife RFC, Edinburgh Harlequins, Selkirk Youth Club, Dalkeith RFC, Kirkaldy RFC, Strathendrick RFC, Perthshire RFC and BATs Rugby throughout a busy summer of community outreach.

Alongside the club’s community visits, supporters can also look forward to a trio of open sessions that will run in the build-up to the new campaign.

Fans can come along and watch the squad being put through their paces at the University of St Andrews on Thursday 27 July, with the team based at ‘The Home of Golf’ for a week-long training camp.

Supporters can then look forward to another open session the following month as Edinburgh Rugby head south to train at Netherdale, Galashiels – the home of Gala RFC – on Friday 25 August, having previously held an open day at the nearby Greenyards earlier this year.

The capital side will then return home to Edinburgh for an open event in September, with a specific date and time to be confirmed at a later date.

Further details on how you can attend all open training sessions will be shared later this summer.

As always, teams, clubs or schools can apply for an Our Burgh player visit via the community section on the club’s official website. Just click here to apply today.

Requesting the support of our community coaching team or the attendance of a professional rugby player is easy and is a great way to amplify the reach and appeal of your rugby event to prospective players in your area.
