Designed by technical partner Macron, the 2026/27 Euro Kit goes back to the roots of the game: broad navy and burnt orange hoops, a crisp white polo collar, and a district crest that hasn’t been seen on an Edinburgh jersey in a generation.
It’s being released in two versions: a match kit, built for this season’s EPCR Challenge Cup campaign, and a classic cotton design for supporters who want a piece of rugby heritage.
To launch the kit, the club brought back some of the players who started it all. Duncan Hodge, Derrick Lee, Grant McKelvey and Graeme Beveridge, all members of that first-ever European team, star in the launch video. Thirty years on, they’re back in the hoops.
At the heart of the jersey is the historic Edinburgh District crest, appearing on the club’s kit for the first time since the launch of professionalism.
Picked out in white on a blue background, it links today’s squad directly to the team that started it all.
The jersey takes its cue from the traditional rugby shirt, with a single-button white polo collar and fine white detailing between the hoops. Look closer and the navy bands carry a tone-on-tone rope graphic, drawn from the anchor on the city’s coat of arms and carried over from this season’s home jersey.
The anchor itself appears as an embossed detail at the hem. Smaller touches complete the story. EST 1872 sits on the back of the neck, marking the year the club was founded. Inside the collar, an orange tape reads ALWAYS EDINBURGH.
Navy shorts carry the rope graphic on the side panels and the heritage crest on the right thigh. They’re paired with navy socks finished with an orange cuff and a fine white stripe.
The match kit is made from Macron’s Eco Fabric, 100% recycled polyester made from post-consumer plastic, and engineered for lightness, durability and breathability across a European campaign.
The 2026/27 Euro Kit, in both match and classic cotton versions, is available now alongside the full Macron collection for Edinburgh Rugby at macron.com and in-store and online at the Scottish Rugby Store.
