One club, one kit: Women’s team to wear same Macron design

15 Dec 2025

Edinburgh Rugby is delighted to announce a significant step forward for the club as its women’s team will, for the very first time, wear the same design of Macron home and alternate playing jersey as the men’s squad.

The announcement is made ahead of the upcoming Celtic Challenge season, which kicks off this weekend. The unified kit symbolises the ‘One Club, One Team’ ethos that continues to be championed across the capital club.

Edinburgh Rugby Women’s team will debut their new kit this Saturday 20 December, as they begin their Celtic Challenge campaign with an away fixture against the Wolfhounds at Energia Park.

The team’s home debut in the new strip will take place in the capital just a week later, as they return to Edinburgh for a highly anticipated derby fixture against Glasgow Warriors Women.

This intercity clash will form part of huge 1872 Cup double-header at Hive Stadium on Saturday 27 December, kicking off at 12pm ahead of the men’s match.

A large number of tickets have already been sold for the curtain-raiser clash, and fans are strongly encouraged to book their tickets early to secure their place in Hive Stadium.

On the new kit, Edinburgh Rugby Women’s Head Coach, Claire Cruikshank, said:

“This is an awesome step forward for our club and truly cements the feeling of unity we have been building across both our men’s and women’s teams. To have our players run out in the exact same colours as the men’s team brings both squads together in a very visual and meaningful way.

“It’s really exciting to launch the kit ahead of our new Celtic Challenge campaign. It will be amazing to run out in it for the very first time this weekend against the Wolfhounds, before returning home for a huge intercity derby at Hive Stadium on the 27th.

“Season 3 of the Celtic Challenge promises to be tough and competitive, and this announcement only brings the new campaign into clearer focus. We can’t wait to get started.”
