About you

Can you share a bit about why you decided to sponsor Matt Currie?

My primary driver for sponsoring Matt and having a presence via Edinburgh Rugby is to raise awareness of the Medical Sales industry for professional and ex-professional players that are looking for their next steps post career.

The medical sales field is one I have worked in for 15 years and see many ex-sportspeople thrive due to the competitive, high-pressure environment.

I run educational courses aimed at those entering into the world of medical sales where they will learn all about the industry, how to enter it and how to succeed in their new career.

What qualities do you admire in Matt, both as a player and as a person?

Matt was a great choice for me as he has shown incredible drive and determination to achieve playing for Scotland U20 and how he has excelled in his professional career so far.

This dogged determination is what allows people to thrive in other career paths also and something that I think we can all learn from.

How does sponsoring Matt align with your business values and goals?

I want to support young players to see future career opportunities early in their playing career.

A player like Matt is a perfect example of someone who has an amazing career ahead of him but I believe if he can role model thinking about what comes next too that this spreads a great message.

Benefits of the Partnership

How has this partnership helped raise awareness of your brand and services?

The partnership helps me reach a wider sporting audience outside of my own professional network which is primarily medical up until now.

Future Goals and Aspirations

How do you envision the partnership with Edinburgh Rugby evolving in the coming years?

Based on the success of my inaugural event I could see a continued sponsorship of Edinburgh players and/or matches to continue building brand awareness but also to hopefully offer education and awareness of the medical field to other Edinburgh players too.
