Edinburgh Rugby is delighted to announce a new two-year partnership with Bevvy – a leading Scottish technology-driven whisky discovery platform – which also becomes the club’s Official Whisky Partner.

Bevvy’s user-friendly mobile app empowers consumers to become whisky experts thanks to cutting-edge image recognition software, which allows fans to scan any bottle of whisky to unlock a wealth of information from the world’s largest database of whiskies, from distillery and bottler details, live pricing information and expert tasting notes.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Bevvy on board as our Official Whisky Partner,” said Edinburgh Rugby Managing Director, Douglas Struth.

“Bevvy’s dedication to making the whisky market accessible through their innovative app technology, perfectly aligns with our own commitment to inclusivity, challenging norms, and innovation. We are also thrilled to partner with a brand that shares our passion for Scotland and its rich heritage.”

Adding a special touch to the partnership is the opportunity to showcase ‘Hirundine’ the blended Scotch whisky launched recently by Edinburgh Rugby players Pierre Schoeman and Duhan van der Merwe, which was available exclusively through the Bevvy app.

The new partnership paves the way to further promote the players’ new joint venture and support the development of their careers after rugby, creating a new and unique opportunity for fans to connect with the squad.

“The fact that Pierre and Duhan are already collaborating with Bevvy will only add another dimension to this exciting partnership.” Struth enthused.

On the partnership, Schoeman added: ‘It is wonderful to be able to combine our day job, our new whisky and a business we are very passionate about to bring this partnership together.

“We are very grateful for the support shown by Luke, Laurie and the Bevvy team around the launch of the Hirundine releases, as well as welcoming myself and Duhan, to the Bevvy family now as investors in the business.

I’m sure the partnership is something the Edinburgh supporters will also see great value in.”

Luke Heron, Bevvy Co-Founder and CEO, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Edinburgh Rugby. Having worked with Pierre and Duhan on the launch of their Hirundine whisky, as well as a number of Edinburgh Rugby players now invested in Bevvy, it seemed the natural next step to partner with Edinburgh Rugby, our hometown club.

“We have a number of exciting activations lined up, exclusively for Edinburgh supporters, throughout the year that we are sure you’ll enjoy. These will include whisky giveaways, tasting events and the chance to watch the 1872 Cup decider in style this December.”
