Edinburgh Rugby and it’s good 2 give celebrate £50,000 milestone

4 Dec 2025

Edinburgh Rugby and Official Charity Partner, it’s good 2 give, are this week celebrating a monumental milestone, having reached a target of £50,000 raised since the partnership began.

This brilliant achievement has seen the club work together on a number of exciting initiatives with the charity to raise funds for their vital work supporting young cancer patients and their families across Scotland.

A key pillar of the fundraising drive is Edinburgh’s dedicated annual match night, the #ChangeTheGame fixture.

This season’s fixture, which raises money and awareness for it’s good 2 give, will be the club’s final regular season home game against Connacht on Friday 15 May at Hive Stadium.

Further strengthening their relationship with the club, it’s good 2 give have this season sponsored lock Rob Carmichael.

The club will celebrate the magnificent £50,000 raised with a special jersey presentation to representatives from it’s good 2 give at half-time of this Sunday’s Investec Champions Cup match versus RC Toulon at Hive Stadium.

In a further show of commitment to the cause, a number of Edinburgh Rugby players will be visiting the charity’s purpose-built Ripple Retreat on Loch Venachar this week.

The visit will allow the squad to learn more about the charity and how the Retreat is utilised by young cancer patients and their families for invaluable short breaks.

Edinburgh Rugby Managing Director, Douglas Struth, said: “Reaching this £50,000 milestone is an incredibly important moment for everyone associated with Edinburgh Rugby.

“The sheer amount of commitment, effort and passion that has gone into this partnership from both the club’s staff and the brilliant team at it’s good 2 give has been pretty inspiring.

“I want to give a massive thank you to our supporters – the Edinburgh fans are second to none and their generosity continues to be overwhelming, year after year. Thanks must also go to our players and backroom staff, as well as everyone associated with it’s good 2 give, who all buy into the charity’s mission wholeheartedly.

“While we rightly pause to celebrate this achievement, this is certainly not the finish line, and we look forward to working towards the next target and continuing our vital partnership for years to come.”

Lynne McNicoll OBE, Co-founder of it’s good 2 give, added: “We are absolutely thrilled to hit this £50,000 target. It is a credit to the enduring power of our partnership with Edinburgh Rugby, and it means the world to everyone at it’s good 2 give.

“I am profoundly thankful to the club’s fans, staff and players for their incredible support. It has been amazing to see the city’s rugby community buy into our mission, learn about the work we do, and show such tremendous generosity.

“This £50,000 raised has and continues to make a tangible difference in the lives of young cancer patients and their families. It is amazing to hit this target, but we know there is so much more to do, and with Edinburgh Rugby by our side, we are confident this is only the beginning.”
