Edinburgh to face Saracens in mid-season friendly
Edinburgh Rugby will face Gallagher Premiership giants Saracens in a mid-season friendly match at Hive Stadium next month (Friday 14 March, 7.35pm).
The match has been scheduled to create more competitive action for the senior side in preparation for the vital end-of-season run-in to the BKT URC and EPCR Challenge Cup – including Edinburgh’s knockout Round of 16 encounter with Emirates Lions in April.
The sides from the Scottish and English capital cities have enjoyed some classic encounters in recent years, most recently in the 2022/23 Investec Champions Cup, which saw the home sides both win their respective encounters by a single score margin.
Supporters will be able to purchase match tickets for the fixture from this Friday at 10am, with Season Ticket Members getting an exclusive, discounted rate.

Edinburgh Head Coach, Sean Everitt, said: “This is a great opportunity for us as a side, welcoming a team with international quality to help us prepare for the rest of our campaign.
“This period can be a tricky one to prepare for matches, with players in and out of Scotland camp, and limited game time, so this will be great for us to build into a crucial stage of the season.”
Edinburgh ‘A’ faced Saracens Storm earlier this season in a thriller at StoneX Stadium, with the home side squeezing to a 33-26 victory. Next month’s fixture will be a chance for the senior sides to go head-to-head, with extended match day squads of first-team regulars duking it out under the Friday night lights.
