1872 Cup: More seating added!

11 Dec 2025

More seated sections have been added for this month’s 1872 Cup clash against Glasgow Warriors at Scottish Gas Murrayfield, as anticipation builds for the deciding leg of rugby’s oldest derby on Saturday 27 December (kick-off 3pm).

The club has increased capacity in the upper West Stand to meet demand in the popular Category One area, which was close to selling out.

Meanwhile, the addition of the lower west corners (featuring Category Three and Four seating) all but completes the stadium’s lower bowl, ensuring that the best view and best-value seats remain available amid soaring demand.

Fans are encouraged to book now, as Scottish Gas Murrayfield is rapidly filling for the thrilling deciding leg between Scotland’s professional clubs, which attracted a 40,000-strong crowd for the first time last year.

Experience the passion of world rugby’s oldest derby, the 1872 Cup, live at Scottish Gas Murrayfield on Saturday 27 December!
