Breadalbane’s new three-year deal to ‘inspire the next generation’
Edinburgh Rugby is delighted to announce a three-year partnership extension with Breadalbane, which will see the Scottish-based independent commercial finance brokerage continue as the club’s on-kit sponsor until 2028.
The renewed deal also sees Breadalbane become Official Mascot Experience Partner of Edinburgh Rugby, further strengthening its commitment to the club and the local community.
The new deal builds on a successful relationship that began in 2019/20 when Breadalbane joined as a Business Club Member. The partnership has since grown significantly, with Breadalbane becoming an on-kit partner ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
This season, Breadalbane has deepened its commitment to the local community by taking on the title of Official Mascot Experience Partner.
Breadalbane will support the club’s community team in providing young fans with the incredible opportunity to meet their Edinburgh Rugby heroes and run out with the team on match nights, placing Breadalbane at the heart of the club’s community work on game day.
This elevated role follows Breadalbane’s previous community support, including the title sponsorship of the club’s Our Burgh Community Award, which was last year presented to Rob Carmichael for his outstanding work in engaging with local clubs as part of the Our Burgh initiative.
Breadalbane and Edinburgh Rugby also launched the Tickets to Inspire initiative last year, which brought the magic of the 1872 Cup to local charities across Scotland.
Over 20 charities, representing a wide range of causes from homelessness and social housing to veteran support and food inequality, received complimentary tickets to the record-breaking 1872 Cup clash at Scottish Gas Murrayfield. The match drew a club-record crowd of over 40,000 fans last December.
The new deal ensures the Breadalbane logo will remain a prominent feature on match days, sitting proudly on the right sleeve of both the home and away match and replica jerseys as the club competes in the BKT United Rugby Championship and Investec Champions Cup.
Edinburgh Rugby Managing Director Douglas Struth said: “Breadalbane have become such an important part of our partner family, and we’re delighted to have them with us for another three years.
“They have consistently grown their support for both the club and our local community. Their decision to become our Official Mascot Experience Partner truly shows they’re not only committed to Edinburgh Rugby but are passionate about giving kids the chance to meet their heroes on match nights. They genuinely want to inspire the next generation.
“Breadalbane’s continued belief in our vision is a fantastic vote of confidence in the club. It shows that Edinburgh Rugby is a great place to be for both existing and new partners, and we couldn’t be prouder to have Breadalbane by our side.”
Breadalbane Director Jamie Lindsay added: “We are delighted to be extending our partnership with Edinburgh Rugby for the next three years. Alongside our on-kit branding, becoming the club’s official Mascot Experience Partner is something we are extremely proud of and very excited about.
“As a business, we are evolving into a more community-focused organisation, and building strong connections with local communities is crucial to Breadalbane’s growth. This aligns perfectly with Edinburgh’s values as a club.
“We are passionate about supporting both the team and its supporters, especially ensuring that younger generations have access to as many opportunities as possible. Through the mascot programme, we hope to play a part in inspiring the next generation of Edinburgh Rugby players and fans – who knows, maybe even the next Darcy Graham or Hamish Watson.”
