Starting this Friday night, the iconic Edinburgh Tram bell will ring out across the stadium to celebrate every turnover penalty won by the home team.
The ‘Tram Bell Turnover’ activation aims to do more than just fire up the crowd; it serves as a rhythmic reminder for supporters to choose sustainable travel.
By integrating this unmistakable city sound into the matchday atmosphere, both Edinburgh Rugby and Edinburgh Trams are encouraging fans to ‘try the tram’ when making their way to and from Hive Stadium.
Fans attending this Friday’s fixture are encouraged to keep an ear out for the first ring of the night, signalling a change in possession and a win at the breakdown.
Becky Love, Marketing and Communications Manager at Edinburgh Trams, said: “The Edinburgh Trams bell has become quite iconic within the city over the last decade, so we were delighted when Edinburgh Rugby proposed using it to mark turnovers in Hive Stadium.
“Hopefully, the bell will become associated with defensive grit throughout the rest of the season, and we’ll hear plenty of it (and see lots of turnovers) throughout the remaining games!”
