This special addition to the kit marks the culmination of Heart Health Month and celebrates the vital ongoing partnership between the club and its official heart health charity partner.
The squad will run out in a limited-edition version of the home match shirt, every one of which will be auctioned off following the final whistle to raise essential funds for BHF Scotland’s lifesaving research.
Fans can play their part in this initiative by participating in a silent auction, which will go live on the British Heart Foundation Scotland website immediately after full-time.
Matchday will be packed with activity dedicated to the charity, including a roster of ‘Heart Health Heroes’ serving as match mascots.
In one of the evening’s most poignant moments, the match ball will be delivered by two pairs of individuals whose stories highlight the critical importance of CPR.
Joining the teams on the pitch are 14-year-old Brodie Hatfield and his father, Rob. Brodie saved his father’s life by performing CPR after Rob suffered a cardiac arrest at home, utilising training he had recently received in a science class at Craigmount High School – an act of bravery that saw him named a CPR Hero at the 2024 BHF Heart Hero Awards.
They will be joined by Dillon Naismith and Robert Donald; in 2017, Dillon suffered a cardiac arrest while playing for Cumnock RFC, and was saved by the immediate resuscitation efforts of his coach, Robert.
Further highlighting the partnership, BHF Scotland will sponsor the ‘Captain’s Lounge’ hospitality for the evening, hosting a special thank-you event for their dedicated fundraisers from across the country.
David McColgan, Head of British Heart Foundation Scotland, said: “Seeing the BHF Scotland logo on the back of the Edinburgh Rugby shirt for the Scarlets match is a proud moment in our partnership with the club.
“Through the Edinburgh Rugby x BHF Scotland partnership, we’re working together to champion heart health and inspire support for lifesaving research across Scotland – using the power of rugby to reach fans on and off the pitch.
“As Heart Month comes to a close, this fixture is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate what we’ve achieved together and encourage everyone to get behind our mission.”
