Ewan Ashman, Magnus Bradbury, Freddy Douglas, Liam McConnell, D’arcy Rae, Pierre Schoeman, Duhan van der Merwe and Darcy Graham are all selected.
Pierre Schoeman is one cap away from a landmark 50th appearance for his country, while Duhan van der Merwe continues to be a cornerstone of the Scotland’s back three having enjoyed a strong end to the domestic campaign.
Ewan Ashman, Scotland’s all-time highest scoring men’s forward, is also named after sweeping Edinburgh’s end of season awards.
Liam McConnell and Freddy Douglas will be hoping to add to their Scotland caps this summer, both having made single appearances for their country – McConnell against the USA in 2025, and Douglas against Portugal in 2024 – both coming off the back of a hugely impressive campaign for Edinburgh.
Darcy Graham comes into the squad fresh from a stint on the sevens circuit, having been called up for GB Sevens at last weekend’s World Championship in Bordeaux – his first appearance on the World Series since 2018.
It is also a welcome return to international action for D’arcy Rae, who comes back into the Scotland setup after a period on the sidelines at the tail end of the season.
D’arcy Rae, Duhan van der Merwe and Liam McConnell will all feature for the Barbarians before linking up with the Scotland squad. The Barbarians face South Africa in Gqeberha on Saturday 21 June before taking on Wales in Cardiff on 27 June.
Scotland then travel to Argentina on Saturday 4 July and South Africa on Saturday 11 July, before returning to Scottish Gas Murrayfield on Saturday 18 July to face Fiji.
