Schoeman to hit 50 in Argentina

2 Jul 2026

Pierre Schoeman will win his 50th Scotland cap as one of three Edinburgh players selected for Saturday's Nations Championship Test against Argentina at Estadio Mario Kempes (4 July, kick-off 8.10pm BST).

Scotland open their three-match Summer Tour against Argentina, before facing South Africa and Fiji – the latter at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.

Schoeman made his Scotland debut in October 2021 against Tonga, scoring a try at Scottish Gas Murrayfield in a 60-14 win.

Just shy of five years later, the prop reaches a half-century of caps for his adopted country.

He starts in the front row alongside Edinburgh Rugby’s 2025/26 Scottish Building Society Player of the Season, Ewan Ashman.

The hooker is fresh off penning a long-term extension with the capital club and will be looking to continue the form that saw him sweep the club’s end-of-season awards.

Darcy Graham – Scotland’s all-time leading try-scorer – is named among the replacements, hoping to add to his 38 tries for his country.
