Everitt relishing Investec Champions Cup challenge

15 Jul 2025

Edinburgh Rugby Head Coach Sean Everitt has shared his thoughts on the club's Investec Champions Cup fixture details, expressing a mix of excitement for the home ties and anticipation for away trips.

The capital side will kick off their European campaign at Hive Stadium against French powerhouse RC Toulon, followed by a journey to Castres Olympique, before hosting Gloucester and concluding their pool stage away to Bath.

“We’re absolutely buzzing to see the Champions Cup fixtures laid out,” Everitt commented. “To start our campaign at Hive Stadium against a team of RC Toulon’s calibre, a side that has lifted this trophy on multiple occasions, will be special and I know our supporters will pack out Hive Stadium. These are the nights you live for in European rugby.”

Everitt also highlighted the significance of the home clash against Gloucester in January. “Then to have a ‘Friday Night Lights’ fixture against Gloucester in January – what a brilliant night for our fans.

“There’s nothing quite like a big European game under the lights in the Scottish capital, and I’m confident Hive Stadium will be absolutely bouncing.”

Looking ahead to the away challenges, Everitt acknowledged the rich history of their opponents.

“Our away trips to Castres and Bath will also be fantastic experiences. Both clubs are steeped in European tradition, and their stadiums are renowned for their atmosphere.

“It’s exciting for our squad to test themselves in those environments, and I’m sure our travelling support will relish the opportunity to visit such great rugby venues and cheer us on.”
