Uncapped duo selected as 13 named in 2025 Quilter Nations Series squad

21 Oct 2025

Uncapped duo Liam McConnell (back-row) and Harri Morris (hooker) are both named in Scotland’s squad for next month’s 2025 Quilter Nations Series as two of 13 Edinburgh players selected. Scotland will face USA, New Zealand, Argentina and Tonga at Scottish Gas Murrayfield in consecutive Tests.

Scotland Head Coach Gregor Townsend names three Edinburgh backs in the 45-man squad with Darcy Graham, Duhan van der Merwe and Ross Thompson all included.

British & Irish Lions Van der Merwe and Graham both touched down in Friday’s bonus-point win over Benetton, the latter grabbing a brace of scores in an electrifying performance.

Uncapped duo McConnell and Morris and two of 10 Edinburgh forward selected by Head Coach Gregor Townsend. The duo – who came through the club’s academy system – could make their Scotland debuts in the opening Test against USA.

British & Irish Lion Ewan Ashman, summer signing Dylan Richardson and club captain Magnus Bradbury are all selected after starting the season in fine form. Bradbury grabbed a try and was named Player of the Match in Friday’s win against Benetton.

Grant Gilchrist, Paddy Harrison, D’arcy Rae, Pierre Schoeman and Marshall Sykes are also included as Scotland kick-off the Quilter Nations Series against USA on Saturday 1 November (kick-off 5.40pm).
