Seven selected for Fiji opener

Seven Edinburgh Rugby players have been selected for Saturday’s Famous Grouse Nations Series opener against Fiji at Scottish Gas Murrayfield (2 November, 5.40pm) – live on TNT Sports.

Ali Price is named at scrum-half after an impressive start to the 2024/25 campaign, having been named BKT Player of the Match in the capital side’s recent URC win over Cardiff Rugby.

Price makes his first start for Scotland since the 2023 Rugby World Cup final group game against Ireland, pairing up with former Glasgow Warriors teammate Adam Hastings at half-back.

D’Arcy Rae will be looking to earn his second cap against Fiji

Wingers Darcy Graham and Duhan van der Merwe – who recently became the country’s top try scorer after touching down against Uruguay in the summer – start on opposite wings.

Edinburgh represent 2/3 of the front-row as Ewan Ashman (hooker) and Pierre Schoeman (loosehead) pack down up front alongside Warriors’ Zander Fagerson.

Club co-captain Grant Gilchrist starts in the second-row, while D’arcy Rae is named on the bench after impressing for Edinburgh with the tighthead looking to add to his first cap that was gained in 2019 against Ireland.
