Lousi breaks through and it looks like the Scarlets are in for another score, however the ball is knocked forward.

Replacing try scorer Boan Venter, for his second appearance for the club.


Lang solid under the high ball.

The inside centre has done well in difficult circumstances tonight. He wins the ball in the air against the towering Vaea Fifita, and calls the mark in the process.


Double change.

Chris Dean and Connor Boyle replace Mark Bennett and Hamish Watson.


We hold our lines.

Lang does well go get to a chipped ball and call the mark. Scarlets then look to play wide but the pass goes forward. Our scrum on half way.



The ball hits the deck as we try to break from deep. Mata absolutely thwacks a young Scarlets debutant which is a welcome to the game.

In the end though it will be a Scarlets scrum on our 22.



Boan Venter crashes over after a sustained period of pressure. Savala adds the extras.


Another penalty.

We’re pushing here. This time we tap and go.


Into the corner!

The boys are looking livelier, but there’s a lot of work to do. We win a penalty, and Lang gets us to the Scarlets 5 metre line.



We lose the ball at the ruck and Scarlets can clear. We’ll have a lineout just outside the home 22.


Attacking lineout.

Vellacott puts in a clever kick, and it forces Scarlets into a rushed clearance. We’ll have an attacking chance here.


Changes in the front row.

Lee-Roy Atalifo and Paddy Harrison replace McCallum and McBurney.

In the meantime, Scarlets have won a breakdown penalty and will kick into our territory.


Scarlets try.

A fifth for the hosts. McNicholl chips over the top and collects his own kick, before putting Fifita through to score his second of the game.

Vellacott on at 9.

He replaces Charlie Shiel. The half back will need to be at his electric best if we’re to get anything from this.


Scarlets try.

The men in red secure the bonus point, going through the hands for Conbeer to score in the corner for his second of the match.

Replacement fly-half Dan Jones adds the extras.


Sykes into the fray.

He replaces Hodgson, first involvement will be the scrum.


Scarlets breakaway.

Nearly a fourth try for the hosts. The lineout goes loose, and Scarlets attack from deep. A probing kick causes problems in the back field with a difficult bounce. It will be a Scarlets scrum on our 22.


Scrum pen!

Won by Big Boan! Lang gets us up into the Scarlets 22 with a massive kick! Positive start to the second half, after an early wobble.


Big defence!

Better intensity from the boys. We drive Scarlets back and force a knock on. Our scrum on the 10.


Not an ideal start.

Box kick out on the full. Scarlets lineout just outside our 22.


Back underway.

Huge 40 needed here. Come on lads!



The Scarlets knock on in contact. That’ll be the half. A big second 40 needed.

Boan Venter almost charges clear, but loses the ball in possession. Scarlets scrum on half way.


Edinburgh scrum

Scarlets nearly break through again, however the attack is stopped by Jamie Hodgson. The lock does will to get to Johnny McNicholl on the wing, chop his man, and force a knock on.


Under pressure again.

Things just not sticking for us here. The ball is loose at a lineout, and Scarlets pounce to attack. We regather, but can only clear to the 22. Another attacking platform for the hosts.



No doubting this one. Sam Lousi gets his arms free in the contact, and frees a scurrying Steff Evans to score.


No try!

Lousi was offside as he stole the ball before Shiel had touched it. We win the penalty and clear to the 22.

The hosts think they’ve scored a third. Piardi checking for something..


Scarlets scrum.

On our 5 metre line, after some great scramble defence from the capital men.


Scarlets penalty.

We had won a breakdown penalty, however the referee reverses the decision after Hodgson had taken Gareth Davies out off the ball. Scarlets into the corner with a huge chance to score.


Kick is wide!

Costelow drags the kick and misses by a fraction. Jaco rockets the 22 drop out away.


Edinburgh offside.

Our kick chase from the clearance is offside. Shot called.



MURRAY MCCALLUM GETS US ON THE BOARD!! It all comes from a brilliant break from James Lang, who shrugged off his defender before charging close to the line. We recycled the ball well, and Big Muzz burrows under!

Savala adds the extras from out wide. Game on!


On the attack!!

Lang breaks through!! We’re on the Scarlets line, pushing for our first score.


Goosen injured.

He will be replaced by Jaco van der Walt.


Scarlets high tackle.

Lang darts down the wing, and is cut down illegally. We’ll have a lineout in Scarlets territory, relieving the pressure from the Llanelli men.



A crucial lineout steal. We can clear, but the Scarlets will come again.


Another penalty.

The kick finds touch this time. Scarlets into our 22.


Edinburgh pinged.

Scarlets win a penalty at the breakdown with Edinburgh holding on to the ball. The kick to the corner doesn’t find touch, but Scarlets are attacking on half way.


Scarlets try.

Vaea Fifita intercepts and goes the length.


High tackle

Lang will send us into Scarlets territory from the resulting penalty! Our lineout on the 22.


Scarlets threatening

The Edinburgh men put their first attacking efforts in, with Goosen and Hoyland causing problems. The hosts pounce on the loose ball and look to be in, however a loose pass lets Edinburgh off the hook.

It’ll be scrum on our 10.


Scarlets try.

The hosts cut through for the opening score. The ball goes wide to Conbeer, who finishes well in spite of the last gasp efforts of Goosen.

Costelow adds the extras.


Free kick at the maul.

Scarlets clear their lines through Costelow. We’ll rebuild from our half after another excellent take from Goosen at full-back.


Penalty to Edinburgh!

It was a fast paced opening from both sides! We look to attack from deep, with Glen Young spotting a gap. Lang follows up, with the ball being ripped illegally.

We’ll have a lineout in the Scarlets half.



Charlie Savala goes deep with the kick-off, and we’re underway at Parc y Scarlets!

Brilliant to see so many Edinburgh fans backing the team in West Wales this evening! We’ll no doubt hear vocal support throughout Parc y Scarlets!


Ready for action at Parc y Scarlets

Welcome to the Galbraith Match Centre, bringing you live stats from Parc y Scarlets as we face the Welsh side in Round 14 of the BKT United Rugby Championship.

We make one change to the starting line-up ahead of kick-off. Dave Cherry misses out through illness and so Adam McBurney starts, with Paddy Harrison coming on to the bench. Hamish Watson is now skipper in Llanelli!
