Savala joins Saints on loan
Edinburgh Rugby can today confirm up and-coming stand-off Charlie Savala has joined Northampton Saints on a short-term loan deal.
Savala, 23, makes the move to the English Premiership club with immediate effect.
Savala has made 30 appearances for the capital club to date, including 19 last season, and will add to his experience at Franklins Gardens.
The Scottish-qualified stand-off recently signed a three-year deal with Edinburgh Rugby, with the loan move giving Savala further playing opportunities with Ben Healy and Cammy Scott competing for the number 10 jersey and Tim Swiel still at the club.
Senior Coach Sean Everitt said: “This is an exciting opportunity for Charlie. It’s a brilliant chance to gain minutes in a competitive league and at a club that plays an attacking brand of rugby that suits his skillset.
“The English Premiership is a tough league, and playing there will help develop him as a rugby player and as a person.”
