Cruse joins Northampton Saints

Hooker Tom Cruse today joined English Premiership side Northampton Saints with immediate effect.

Cruse moved to Edinburgh from Wasps on a short-term deal in November but now returns to the Midlands – where his wife and family remain settled – as his contract at Edinburgh comes to an end.

Cruse made his Edinburgh Rugby debut at home to Munster in December – becoming Edinburgh player 1319 – and has since featured five times, starting in both festive 1872 Cup derbies against Glasgow Warriors.

Head Coach Mike Blair thanked Cruse for his contributions to the club.

He said: “Tom [Cruse] has been brilliant for us since joining in November and he’s been a really popular guy around the club. His attitude and work ethic meant he was able to slot into the squad straight away and we’ve all really enjoyed working with him.

“His experience has been invaluable for us during this short period. We wish him the very best as he returns to the Midlands and joins Northampton Saints.”
