The biggest game of Edinburgh Rugby’s season is coming to Scottish Gas Murrayfield on Sunday 27 December, and the club wants grassroots rugby front and centre for it.
Ahead of the 1872 Cup derby against Glasgow Warriors, Edinburgh Rugby is launching a challenge to find its biggest grassroots supporters.
The club or school that brings the most supporters to December’s derby will win a full takeover of next year’s 1872 Cup match at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.
That means a half-time minis game on the Scottish Gas Murrayfield pitch, forming the guard of honour, and mascot places on the big day.
What’s up for grabs
- Biggest group: A takeover at the 1872 Cup in December 2027, including half-time minis on the Scottish Gas Murrayfield pitch and the guard of honour, plus a training session at Hive Stadium during the 2027/28 season (details confirmed with the winner)
- Second biggest group: A bag of Edinburgh-branded Gilbert balls and a player appearance at your club
- Third biggest group: A signed playing top, to auction off or use as a prize for your own members
- Every booking of 50+: A personal video message from an Edinburgh Rugby player, plus a half-time shoutout with your club or group’s name on the big screen

To help your club climb the table, tiered group discounts are available:
