Community Catch-Up February
Despite the schools being on half term, the club’s Community Team has still been out working across the city. Here’s what we’ve been up to this week…
Young Ambassadors Programme
Young Sports Leaders from schools all across Edinburgh used some of their half term time to learn different leadership skills and qualities via lectures and practical sessions.
The Edinburgh Rugby Community Team assisted in the delivery of a session based on the ‘How to’ coaching skills. They also introduced new rugby-related games which can be used across the variety of sports that the leaders coach, to help them get the most out of their own sessions in the future.
FOSROC Skills Camp
The Community Team paid a visit to Forrester High School to help local Development Officers with their Under-14 and Under-15 pathway skills camps.
The two-day camp included game-related activities, with the main focus of playing off of 10 and attacking through defences, all linked to the Scottish Rugby technical blueprint.
FOSROC Super 4s
The Edinburgh Under-17s continue to train hard in the lead up to the FOSROC Super 4s next week (Sunday 24 February). The competition will see them play against teams from Caledonia, The Borders & East Lothian and Glasgow & The West.
Principal & Prosper Edinburgh Rugby Camps
The new look Principal & Prosper Edinburgh Rugby Camps are on sale now.
There are three options available:
- Principal & Prosper Edinburgh Rugby Rascals Camp (suitable for anyone in P4 – P7)
- Principal & Prosper Edinburgh Rugby Miss Pass Camp (suitable for girls in S1 – S6)
- Principal & Prosper Edinburgh Rugby Renegades Camp (suitable for boys in S1 – S4)
Principal & Prosper X7s
Edinburgh Rugby will be running the first Principal & Prosper U16 and U18 X7s Competition on Saturday 23 March and Saturday 27 April.
X7s is an exciting new rugby format that combines the speed and flair of sevens on a smaller pitch, creating a game that better suits youth players.
