Gala open session: Sign up for free!

1 Aug 2023

Fans can now sign up for free to watch the team train at Netherdale, the home of Gala RFC, on Friday 25 August!

Running from 12.30 noon to 3.30pm at the famous Borders ground (Nether Rd, Galashiels, TD1 3HE) fans can watch the team be put through their paces while enjoying plenty of community activity on the day to keep the whole family entertained.

The session held at Netherdale follows on from last week’s opening summer session success in St Andrews, which saw fans brave the rain and get along to cheer on the team and meet their heroes at the Home of Golf.

This month’s open session in The Borders will also give fans the opportunity to meet the Edinburgh Rugby squad, with community games and a signing/selfie meet-and-greet planned following the rugby session on the main Netherdale pitch.

Supporters can also hear from the players and coaches on all things pre-season preparation with a number of in-session Q&As planned, while plenty of the club’s sponsors and partners will also be in attendance at the event, bringing further activities to the open session.

Check out the open day event timeline below:

    • 12 noon: Gates open
    • 12.30pm: Session begins alongside community activity
    • 2pm: Training to end, into selfie and signing session
    • 3pm: Event ends

The open session is the perfect event for the good summer weather, so why not bring along the whole family to meet the Edinburgh squad.

Please include a message in your sign-up if you require accessible parking at the event.

Please note: Fans that turn up having not signed up will still be admitted, however registering helps us manage the day appropriately for an estimated attendance.

The capital squad will also be out and about in the local community with ‘Our Burgh’ visits planned for rugby clubs across the team’s supporting regions throughout August, with trips to Kirkaldy RFC and Perthshire RFC planned.
