WES GOOSEN

Edinburgh’s Kiwi flyer continued his exceptional form for the season into April, stringing together another set of stellar performances in the capital’s back three. Goosen evaded 23 would-be tacklers across the month, and picked up the player of the match award for a rampant display against the Scarlets at Hive Stadium.

Chosen cause: Linlithgow RFC

GRANT GILCHRIST

Gilco cemented himself as an Edinburgh legend in April, becoming the fourth double centurion in club history away to the Sharks. The Scotland lock put in displays that Edinburgh fans have come to know and love, bringing energy and physicality around the park, and imperious skills at set piece.

Chosen charity: Samaritans

MATT CURRIE

Matt Currie impressed again in the capital backline, excelling in a number of positions when called upon. The centre started the month at inside-centre, scoring a stunning solo score against Bayonne to turn the tide in Edinburgh’s favour with the game in the balance. Currie featured at 13 in the side’s recent win away against Cardiff, and had a try-scoring outing on the wing against Scarlets.

Chosen charity: It’s Good 2 Give

JAMIE RITCHIE

J roared into form in April, proving a nuisance at the breakdown at every opportunity. The Scotland flanker displayed his usual physicality against Bayonne and the Sharks, however was at his best against Scarlets and Cardiff. The blindside showed his aerial capabilities against Scarlets, plucking the ball out of the Hive sky against the head on a couple of occasions, before backing up his display against Cardiff where he was awarded Player of the Match.

Chosen charity: Ronald McDonald House Charities
