Bradbury wins scottish building society player of the month: May
Number eight Magnus Bradbury has today been named Scottish Building Society Player of the Month for May, picking up the fan vote for an stellar month in the capital.
Big Maggie was at his best in May, leading from the front as captain in the absence of the injured Grant Gilchrist and Ben Vellacott. The number eight has always been a willing carrier of the ball, regularly taking the ball up dark alleyways to get the team go forward, and May was no different.
A crowning performance was his Player of the Match display against Ulster, that saw Bradbury power over for two tries, before leading with an immense display at Loftus Versfeld in which he carried 20 times for 136 metres, beating 5 would-be tacklers.
The imperious back-row was dominant in the public vote, claiming a runaway 48% of the fan vote.
As part of the award, Bradbury is able to donate £500 – courtesy of Scottish Building Society – to a charity of their choice from our main club partner’s foundation, with Bradbury choosing Dr Bell’s Family Centre.
Dr Bell’s aims to be a welcoming place where families with young children can get encouragement, support and advice in a relaxed environment. They provide universal and targeted provision – for everyone and focusing on the most disadvantaged – in order to minimise stigma.
The charity plays a significant part in creating community cohesion by bringing together people of different cultures around a shared agenda – the welfare of children.
