Picnic on the Pitch: Everything you need to know!
We can’t wait to welcome supporters to Hive Stadium this Saturday (24 August) for the second-ever Picnic on the Pitch!
Here’s everything you need to know about the event which gives fans of all ages the chance to pick the best spot to unpack their picnic blankets (no chairs please) and settle in on the Hive Stadium playing surface for an afternoon of fun.
The Edinburgh Rugby playing squad will be there to meet and chat with everyone, take selfies and grab autographs.
We want the event to be as relaxed, enjoyable, and informal as possible.
TICKETS
Attendees will be sent tickets to their Scottish Rugby Ticketing App. There will be a visual check on arrival. Grab the last available tickets HERE.
GETTING HERE AND GETTING IN
The event will start at 11am and will finish at 2pm.
Access to the event will be down the ‘East/West Link’ only –opposite the Murrayfield tram stop. Access to the pitch will be down the players’ tunnel!
There is no parking at the event. Those with accessibility issues can apply for Blue Badge Parking in the South Stand car park and are asked to contact Customer Services [email protected].
HELP US PROTECT OUR PITCH
Flat-soled shoes must be worn to access the grass – unfortunately, pitch access will not be granted otherwise. Wheelchairs are allowed on the pitch.
Please put any rubbish items in the bins provided. All help to take care of the Hive Stadium surface is much appreciated.
Please also note, we’re sorry to confirm that dogs are not permitted at the event.
WHAT’S ON
There will be live music from Mark Sharp and Amy Baillie, plus Q&As with Managing Director Douglas Struth, Head Coach Sean Everitt, Matt Scott and Ross Thompson hosted on in front of the Main Stand, as the countdown to the season kick-off continues.

A host of games and activities from giant Jenga and Connect Four to Table Football and Classic Cornhole will be set up around the perimeter of the Hive Stadium pitch to entertain all the family.
FOOD AND DRINK
You can bring your own food and beverages to this event, however there are some restrictions:
All bags will be searched on arrival. There may be a lot of bags on the day so please arrive in good to enter the event. Your patience and understanding here would be greatly appreciated.
Sealed plastic bottles of water / soft drinks can be brought in up to a maximum of 500ml.
No alcoholic beverages or glass bottles can be brought in from outside the event.
No knives of any kind can be brought in from outside the event
Food and beverages (soft and alcoholic) will be available to buy at the event
