Edinburgh announces partnership with Booking.com

29 Jan 2019

Edinburgh Rugby has today announced that Booking.com, one of the world’s leading tourism platforms, has signed to become the club’s Official Home Stay Partner for the next two years.

In 2018, Edinburgh was the second most popular destination on Booking.com for people organising travel to the United Kingdom*. The partnership will therefore be good news for the city’s homeowners who can earn income by listing their properties for rental on Booking.com, catering to the increasing demand for great value accommodation from tourists and sport fans alike.

Edinburgh Rugby’s Interim Managing Director, Craig Docherty, said: “Edinburgh Rugby competes across seven countries in the Heineken Champions Cup and Guinness PRO14 – so more rugby fans than ever before are seeking affordable short-term accommodation in the city.

“This presents a great opportunity for supporters to supplement their income from visiting rugby fans all year round, in addition to the other major festivals and events taking place in the city.

“Booking.com is one of the world’s leading tourism brands, so we’re delighted to welcome them to our growing family of partners.”

Olivier Grémillon, Vice President at Booking.com, said: “We’re thrilled to be working together with Edinburgh Rugby for the next two seasons. Through this partnership we hope to inspire more people to take a trip to see their team in action while also ensuring that they can plan and organise their trips in the most seamless way possible.”

“Homeowners looking to register their property with Booking.com in Edinburgh can do so in just a few simple steps by visiting join.booking.com.”

With a mission to empower people to experience the world, and over 28 million unique places to stay worldwide, Booking.com is well positioned to help rugby fans make the most of their travels. Booking.com offers a diverse range of accommodation to suit every budget as well as the best ways to experience what each destination has to offer.
