Edinburgh Rugby and It’s good 2 give launch ‘Road to £100k’ campaign

With more than £76,000 already raised since the partnership began, hitting £100,000 will require Edinburgh Rugby and It’s good 2 give to have their most successful fundraising season to date.

It’s good 2 give supports the physical and mental wellbeing of young cancer patients aged 0-18, and their families, across Scotland.

Its work ranges from mental wellbeing support to providing specialist equipment that eases pain and anxiety during treatment, as well as gifting short breaks at the charity’s award‑winning Ripple Retreat on the shores of Loch Venachar, giving families a peaceful place to rest and reconnect.

The Road to £100k follows a landmark 2025/26 for the partnership. In December 2025, the club and charity celebrated passing £50,000 raised, and Edinburgh players visited the Ripple Retreat to see first-hand how it supports families.

In May, the club’s Change the Game fixture against Connacht at Hive Stadium pushed the total past the £70,000 target. Ewan Ashman, Pierre Schoeman and Darcy Graham each played for a young fan supported by the charity. Sponsors pledged per point scored, while fans were able to donate to the charity at checkout when purchasing tickets online.

Get involved this Friday

Fundraising gets underway this Friday, when Edinburgh welcome the DHL Stormers to Hive Stadium for their first home match of the BKT United Rugby Championship season (Friday 2 October, kick-off 7.45pm).

Supporters can enter a matchday raffle with the chance to win an array of prizes – including signed shirts from some of your favourite Edinburgh stars – with every ticket raising money for It’s good 2 give.

Fundraising will continue at home fixtures throughout 2026/27, building towards the club’s annual Change the Game fixture held at the end of the regular season.

The campaign launches with the backing of Edinburgh Rugby’s Grant Gilchrist, Ben Vellacott and Harry Paterson. They are calling on supporters to get behind the drive from the very first home match of the season.

“Change the Game is one of the most special nights of the season. When you see players running out for a young person the charity has supported, and you meet those families at Hive Stadium, it puts everything into perspective. It’s a reminder that what we do on match night can mean so much more than the result.
