New threads: 2023/24 Macron match kit unveiled

7 Sep 2023

Edinburgh Rugby today unveiled its new home and alternate Macron match kit for the 2023/24 season, with both shirts now available to buy online and in-store at the Scottish Rugby Store.

Developed at Macron’s headquarters in Bologna, the home shirt retains a navy blue creative, while including a new reflex blue design across the front of the jersey, with subtle hints of burnt orange.

The alternate kit is white melange and burnt orange, with the melange effect amplified by the tone-on-tone graphics on the front and back of the shirt. Burnt orange side stripes extend on both sides of the jersey.

Both shirts feature ‘Est 1872’ on the back of the neck – the year of Edinburgh district’s formation. The Macron Hero appears on the right side of the chest, with the Edinburgh Rugby crest on the left.

Scottish Building Society – Edinburgh Rugby’s Main Club Sponsor – proudly features on the front of both the home and alternate jerseys.

In both cases, the jerseys are produced by Macron in Eco Fabric, 100% polyester from recycled plastic, representing a strong message of sustainability from the club’s Official Kit Supplier.

HOME KIT

The main body of the jersey is in navy blue with three wide horizontal bands (on the chest, stomach and bottom of the jersey) made up of fine horizontal stripes of different thicknesses in reflex blue that create a shaded effect.

The inside neck label is customised with the Edinburgh Rugby colours and logo, along with the Macron Hero logo and the words “Designed in Bologna” certifying that the garment is designed and developed at Macron’s Bologna Headquarters.

The Home kit is completed by navy blue shorts with side bands that replicate the striped graphics of the jersey.

The socks on the lower half are navy blue, while from the middle upwards they feature different sized stripes in reflex blue with a shaded effect and an orange horizontal stripe on the upper edge.

ALTERNATE KIT

The Aleternate shirt is in white melange with a polo collar, the sleeve edges and side stripes are in burnt orange.

The melange effect is also amplified by the tone-on-tone graphics made up of numerous stripes of different sizes on the front and back.

The shorts are also white melange and have a series of different sized horizontal stripes on the sides in burnt orange.

The socks mirror the graphic layout of those of the home kit, but with the combination of white and burnt orange colours and a double white-navy blue stripe on the upper edge.
