Change The Game returns for the club’s final home URC match of the season against Connacht on 15 May, and with £65,000 already raised, Edinburgh Rugby are calling on players, fans, and the wider community to help close the gap and hit a milestone that would mean everything to the families It’s Good 2 Give supports across Scotland.
A week of stories
Beginning today (Monday 11 May) Edinburgh Rugby will use a mix of player videos, web stories, social graphics, and charity-led content across the week to maximise awareness and drive donations ahead of kick-off.
Three members of the squad – Darcy Graham, Grant Gilchrist and Pierre Schoeman – will each share why they are playing for a child supported by It’s Good 2 Give, giving fans a personal window into the lives the charity touches every day.
On the night itself, itself we have some great involvement from some of the young people and their families that have been supported by It’s Good 2 Give, moments that speak to exactly why this fixture means so much to all involved.
Why It’s Good 2 Give
It’s Good 2 Give exists to support young cancer patients and their families across Scotland at one of the most difficult times of their lives.
Through practical assistance, vital mental health provision, and the sanctuary of their Ripple Retreat on the shores of Loch Venachar, they make a real and lasting difference to families navigating childhood cancer.
Ruari Mackenzie, It’s Good 2 Give Board Member and Trustee, says the partnership with Edinburgh Rugby has meant everything to the charity.
He said: “The support Edinburgh Rugby and their incredible fans have shown us is something we will never take for granted. When we first saw the numbers climbing towards £50,000, we were blown away – and now, to be within touching distance of £70,000 is truly extraordinary.
“Every single penny goes directly towards supporting young cancer patients and their families through some of the hardest moments they will ever face.
“We are so deeply grateful to everyone who has helped us get here, and to everyone who will play their part on Friday night. Together, we really are changing the game for the families who need it most.”
How to donate
Supporters can also give on the night by purchasing raffle tickets at the stadium.
The easiest way to donate, however, is online – visit the Edinburgh Rugby x It’s Good 2 Give Just Giving page HERE to make a secure donation and help us reach that £70,000 milestone!
