Matt Currie

Outside Centre

Versatile centre Matt Currie made his debut for his boyhood club in 2021.

The 6ft 3in centre started all five matches for Scotland U20 during the 2020 U20 Six Nations campaign.

Currie made his professional debut for his boyhood club in February 2021, coming on as a late substitute in the Guinness PRO14 match-up with Munster at BT Murrayfield.

The centre grabbed his first try for the club in the Rainbow Cup win over Zebre at BT Murrayfield in April 2021.

Currie signed his first professional deal for the club in January 2022, and went on to vice-captain the side against Ospreys in the same month – holding a leadership role at 20 years old.

The former Dumfries man came of age in the 2023/24 season, winning the club’s Breakout Player of the Season, featuring across the backline, scoring 5 times. The centre’s form saw him earn a spot in the Scotland squad to tour the Americas.
