Edinburgh-born hooker Jerry Blyth-Lafferty began his rugby journey aged seven at Boroughmuir RFC.
He progressed through the club’s age grades and went on to play for the Boroughmuir Bears in the FOSROC Super Series. A gifted all-round sportsman, he also competed in judo in his youth and was a Scottish champion boxer.
Blyth-Lafferty represented Scotland U18 at loosehead prop before converting to hooker. He starred for Edinburgh ‘A’ in the 2022/23 FOSROC Super Series Sprint and featured for Scotland U20, before joining the Edinburgh pro-academy ahead of the 2023/24 season alongside younger brother Ollie.
In 2024 the pair made history as the first brothers to play together for Scotland U20, starting in the front row against Samoa at the World Rugby U20 Trophy. They went on to lift the trophy together at Hive Stadium.
After featuring for Emerging Scotland against a Tonga XV in November 2025, Blyth-Lafferty made his Edinburgh debut off the bench in the 1872 Cup decider against Glasgow Warriors at Scottish Gas Murrayfield that December.
He became player #1349, appearing alongside Ollie (#1348). The brothers joined a proud line of siblings to represent the club, including the Blair brothers, the Toolis twins and current teammates Matt and Tom Currie.
He made his first start away to Leinster in January 2026, holding his own against one of the toughest front rows in the game.
He impressed with his set-piece accuracy across his first five senior appearances, and in April 2026 stepped up to his first professional contract with his boyhood club.
