Edinburgh-raised back-three player Jack Brown began playing rugby in Primary 3 at Watsonians.

He worked his way up the club’s age grades alongside playing for George Watson’s College, where he featured in the 1st XV from 2021 to 2023.

A talented all-rounder, he was also a competitive swimmer who represented Heart of Midlothian Swim Club at national level, before deciding to prioritise rugby during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Brown captained Scotland at the 2023 U18 Six Nations Festival and made three appearances for Watsonians in the FOSROC Super Series Sprint that year.

He then joined the Edinburgh-aligned FOSROC Scottish Rugby Academy ahead of the 2023/24 season. He made his Scotland U20 debut against Ireland in the 2024 U20 Six Nations and went on to win ten U20 caps.

These included starting all five matches of the 2025 U20 Six Nations and featuring at the 2025 World Rugby U20 Championship in Italy. In November 2024 he came off the bench as Scotland A edged Chile 19-17 at Hive Stadium.

Brown made his Edinburgh debut against the Emirates Lions in April 2025 and impressed at the tail end of the 2024/25 season, showing maturity in big home fixtures against the Lions and Sharks. He made his first start away to Zebre Parma at the Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi.

He grew into a reliable member of the senior squad in 2025/26, making ten appearances.

One of his standout displays came off the bench in a bonus-point win over the Hollywoodbets Sharks, when he made three line breaks and carried for 55 metres.

In April 2026 he stepped up to his first professional contract with his hometown club.
